Mall of Asia - with my Search for the Ideal Thomasian Personality Friends.

It's been quite awhile, since the last time we hunged out together... Though we never really got complete. hhmmm..that would for surely be a big miracle if ever! That our schedules meet one time...maybe! Who knows.. figerscrossed*

Ton-ton planned of doing ice skating... but where art thou brother?! hehehe! Ron was so gracious in texting everyone 'bout updates, plans and time...basically all the details! Thanks you brother!

The scheduled meeting time was 12:00noon at the MOA. I arrived at 7:00pm because of some things I "really - badly - needed" to attend to. hahhaha! SOREE. Plus the god-damn traffic! Soree!

Anyhow, I really enjoyed the time.. Once again, we were able to somehow catch up with our stories, plans and lives...

I'm thankful I have all of you. Til our next!

"Be the change you want to see in the world."

"Be the change you want to see in the world."

This morning, heart thumping sounds of resounding election campaign jingles woke me up. Alas! It's the start again of the unending thread of campaigns and political promises for next months 'til May. Wherein political aspirants would try their "best-est" ways to court and win the sympathy of voters. It's the colorful - - - not to mention most controversial and sometimes dramatic season. Promises of change, poverty alleviation, abolition of economic detriments and more! - - - ending up to the demands of voting for them. Weew! I think I've heard this things and lines over and over...

Have we seen change?,
Was poverty defeated?
Did the economic situation able to recover?
How's terrorism going?
And oh, how was a ranking at the most corrupt country list? - did it even went down? - - - us being the grand prize title holder? ;p NONE!

"Be the change you want to see in the world."

I mean, PRACTICALLY - - - let's accept the fact that there's actually no such thing as INSTANT change. You won't get rich in a snap of a finger. You wont get a solution for the problems of this nation in a blink of an eye. And it's a real deal that we cannot solely leave the problems of this country in the hands of our elected officials. Aren't we scared of the nation we are going to hand down to our future children? In one way or the other, we are all sharers towards making this world the best place it "could still" possibly be. One thing is for sure, nothing would happen if you don't get up and do your part. It's simple.

"Be the change you want to see in the world."

Podium - Mega - Shang with Corn and Jacquie 28mar07

with my College batchmates, Cornelio Ong and Jacquie Mupas.

This "day-night-out" was scheduled a few weeks before. But because our schedules do not usually meet, we had to bear and wait for this time to arrive. Jacque and Corn became so busy with Med School and I also got busy with some provincial hosting jobs I had. I MISSEED this two! Though we're not complete, in the absence of Josemaria, Nimf and Aiza, I'm still happy we had a wonderful time to catch up and share our long overdue stories! hahaha!

The trip was painstaking! I came all the way from Batangas - sufferred the ill effects of the hostage taking drama happening in the metro that brought a tremendous paradigm shift in the traffic situation! wheew! I was two hours late from our 3:00pm time... my bad - not really! Arriving late, I got jealous of Corn! - Jacque gave him two pairs of new shoes! :c Jaque, promise to give me 10 ( TEN) pairs of shoes this weekend ah! Nag promise ka! hahahaha! Cge na, i'll fetch it in your condo..hahhaha! Kung ndi, i'll make a fireback on you! hahahaha! joke... basta 10 pairs ko! THANKS THANKS! sayang lng kasi nkstock jan seo...hehhe..

Anyhow, I had a wonderful time with these guys! From our dinner in Podium, Movie ( Norbit was the best! hahaha! Rustacia!) at Megamall and Starbucks at the Shang!

It was all worth it! 'Looking forward for our next! :p

I'm alive.

Everyday whenever we wake up, knowing we're alive and free - - - is a blessing. The rest is BONUS!

Yesterday, the biggest news occupying most of the television airtime is the dramatic hostage taking event happening in Manila. Where in 154 innocent young children we're kept hostage for hours for the sake of airing the hostage taker's dreams and principles. ;: damn it! such a silly move to do! :;

I can't imagine the painstaking hours the parents of these children had during the whole hostage taking drama... :p The agony they experienced knowing that their most loved children are having a bad tremendous time with guns, granades and loads of verbal abuse :p Worst is, they are clueless of why they got involved. Pity:c

I hope that these kids be able to move on and recover fast from the misery and trauma brought about by these horrible incident. I join the nation in praying for them. I also pray that these hostage takers be enlightened and directed to the right path and given wisdom to reflect on what they did.

I'm blessed. I'm alive. waking up everyday, knowing that I'm breathing and free - - - is such a blessing. The rest is a BIG BONUS from above!

Thank you LORD! :p

Philippine Idol Concert Hosting experience..post partum*

09 March 2007 - - - OLCA , Taal, Batangas 07:00pm

In celebration of the National Family Day in my High School - - - i was given the rare opportunity to be invited once again after four long years of seperation to host the Philippine Idol concert...

Family day became a funfilled day for everyone, as the School Home Association in partnership with the Our Lady of Caysasay Academy Administration meticulously planned and arranged every activity possible for the benefit and joy of my fellow OLCAns... Among these activities include: THE Eucharistic Celebration, Costume Parade and Contest for the kiddoes, Wall Climbing Lessons, Horticulture,Avian and Aquatic Lectures,Bingo Social,Dog Shows etc.,Face and Henna Painting - - - and the Philippine Idol Concert @ Night.
Surprisingly, I was already working out the show an hour earlier before the idols came.. and yeah!!! I belong! The Idols have exacly the same outfit as with me! I was wearing my Raquel Gutierrez white long Sleeves and jeans... ( Thanks Ate Keng for the wonderful top as always! ) hahah! they asked me again who made it! nkailang gamit ko na yan ah..pgawa nko bago..hehhee!huggs* ) . . Drae's is JC Buendia ..hahaha! Peace out!*

This rare opportunity paved also the way for me to meet my old time friends, High School professors and other people, i had the most wonderful time chatting with the rest of the Idol Finalists. Kuya Drae - - - you really inspired me. I'll work on it to be able to be part of your wonderful deeds for street children. That's a promise.

:;magpakailanman:; by Rocksteady

( this song got my attention and ears recently, I dunno.,I keep replayin' it. Plus the fact it's a Tagalog song..weird. And I loved it! Anyhow, I want to share this one to all of you. It talks about life in general... Everything in this world shall pass. Simple*)

Habang buhay kita mamahalin
Habang buhay kita hihintayin
Habang buhay kita mamahalin, magpakailanman

Panahon ay lilipas din
Mga araw ay daraan
Ang mundo ay papanaw din
ngunit hindi ang aking puso
Panahon ay lilipas din
Mga araw ay daraan
Ang mundo ay papanaw din
ngunit hindi ang aking puso

Catch Sir Bobby Soul in Taiwan, March 26,2007 ( Monday ) for the 2nd leg of his' 2007 ASIAN Tour. I'm glad I've worked with him at his' Philippine Concert. :)

He is the great man who brought the good old songs like "The Great Pretender," "Twilight Time," "Only You," "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," "My Prayer," "The Magic Touch" and "Unchained Melody","Delilah","Endless Love" etc...

I am deeply honored to meet Mr.Bobby Soul at the night of my Philippine Idol Concert Hosting where he performed together with his' daughter Tamika. That night paved the way for us to meet together with the rest of the Idols who looks up to him as well. Surprisingly, he invited me to host his' concert - - - wheeeew! "the pleasure is mine!" . . . It is such a great honor to be able to work a concert with this legendary man who gave the world those immortal songs. truly, ONE NOSTALGIC night.

Ive learned a lot from this once in a lifetime experience.

BOBBY: I'll try to sing and be at your next birthday OLI!
OLi: Weee! :) :) :) flattered! Please do.

"...I AM DECIDED. Now I realized that after everything I've received, I guess it's about time to share anything that I could, in anyway possible. In any given proportion.

I pledge to be more caring and concerned.

I've started to coordinate, thank God the President of Red Cross UST is my friend, I am eager to conduct our plans of any surgical, medical, dental mission this summer... FINGERSCROSSED* I am also priveledged to know alot of Doctor friends at the UST Hospital, I'll make this one work.
"
____________________________________________________________________

Blessings came pourin' and I can't help but think - - - am I all worthy of these?

For the past two years, somehow - I would have to say that I have been truly blessed. With a beautiful family, though not perfect of course, a wonderful education, good brothers, and a bounty of g00d friends. - - - and a lot more!

There is so much to thank. Really. What I am right now is actually a product and sum of all the things I've been through in the past. I could remember myself going to the UST Church religiously everyday after classes, to ask for God's help regarding my studies. yeah!!! I consider half my success a gracious blessing from the Good Lord. +

A few weeks ago, I was given the rare opportunity to host the Philippine Idol's Concert in my High School Alma Matter. "The Pleasure is Mine!" Everything went well and it is such a nice time to see myself be back on that school where everything for me started since first grade... Weee! - - - Behind the blinding spotlight and joy brought about by the successful concert, I thank the Lord for something much more that He gave me that night. AN EYE OPENER.

Backstage together with Kuya Drae Ybanez, one of the Idol Finalists - - - I enjoyed talking to the most. Two of the Idol finalists were fellow Thomasians. weee! Small world. - - - I was so inspired with his' story. - - - On how he struggled in the past, climbed the road to success through IDOL, - - - and somehow turned away from a noble profession to be able to help street children that got his' attention and heart the most. These are the things that I would really love to do, given the time, capacity and privilege to do.

I AM DECIDED. Now I realized that after everything I've received, I guess it's about time to share anything that I could, in anyway possible. In any given proportion.

I pledge to be more caring and concerned.

Bobby Soul is remembered as the youngest of the original "Platters," the world-famous all-African-American band from the 1950s, the so-called "Golden Years of Pop Music."

Soul was the vocalist and is regarded as the heart and soul of the group.

Soul sang alongside such big names of the pop music world as Jackie Pickets, Chuck Berry, Frankie Lyman, the Teenagers, the Drifters, Little Anthony, the Imperials, B.B.King, Mary Wells and Teddy Pendergrass.

His rich and enchanting voice has proven to be as enduring and timeless as his past musical successes with group members.

Every year, he sings about 40 Platters oldies at theatres, clubs, ballrooms and charity shows around the world.

His classic interpretations of the good old songs like "The Great Pretender," "Twilight Time," "Only You," "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," "My Prayer," "The Magic Touch" and "Unchained Melody" often bring the audience to its feet.

Soul also impresses the audiences with his interactive performance mode as he likes to walk down the stage, shaking hands and taking pictures, signing autographs and cracking jokes with fans.

Audiences of all ages react enthusiastically to their performances, whether they are performing for a small group or tens of thousands, as they did during the closing ceremonies of the 1996 Olympics.

Bobby Soul has been based in Toronto, Canada ever since he went solo. Bobby has been coming back and forth to the country for various performances, a few times with Asia’s Queen of Songs, Ms. Pilita Corrales.

MY DAY ISN'T FINISHED YET!!! :after my concert hosting....I had to rush and do more travel to attend at my batchmates' dad's birthday party - arriving there at around 11 in the evening where my former classmates have been waiting since 7pm..hehehe! soreee..... weee! TIRED! but all was worth it!

It's once in a lifetime!
